## What happens on the day
1. We check the incoming supply, the consumer unit and the earthing arrangement.
2. We agree where the unit goes and how the cable runs, including through walls or under floors.
3. We install a dedicated circuit with its own protection back to the board.
4. We test the circuit, commission the charger, and connect it to its app.
5. We certify the work and register it, and the certificate comes to you by email.
Most straightforward installations are finished in a day.
## Questions people ask before booking
**Does my consumer unit need replacing first?**
Sometimes. A charger needs its own protected circuit, and older boards often have no spare way or no room for the right device. We tell you at the survey, before you commit to anything.
**What if I only have on-street parking?**
A charger has to be installed where the cable does not cross a public footpath. In parts of Canterbury and central Whitstable that rules out a wall-mounted unit, and we will say so at the survey rather than after.
**Can you fit a charger to a listed building or in a conservation area?**
Often yes, but the position of the unit and the cable route matter. Whitstable and Canterbury both have conservation areas where this needs thinking about first.
**Do I need a three-phase supply?**
Not for a normal home charger. Domestic single-phase supplies handle a 7kW unit.
**Who certifies the work?**
We do. The installation is notified under Part P and the certificate is issued in your name
